Why your business needs its own domain in 2026

If your business only lives on a platform you don't control, you're renting your customer relationships. Here's why owning the front door matters.

If your business only lives on a Facebook page or a Linktree, you're renting your customer relationships from a platform that can change the rules any time.

Your own domain (yourbusiness.com) is the one piece of online real estate you control. It anchors your email, your website, and every link you ever share.

Pick something short, easy to say out loud, and easy to spell. .com is still the safest default. If your first choice is gone, try a tighter variation rather than a quirky TLD.
